The Merriam Mountains residential development is planned for approximately
2,630 homes in 5 neighborhoods and a small area of estate homes. 

• The homes are intended to provide a wide variety of housing options to
  help meet the critical housing needs facing San Diego County.
• The diversity of housing types in Merriam Mountains is designed to
  meet the needs of varied income levels, ages and lifestyles.
• San Diego County is not producing enough homes to meet the demands
  from employment and population growth.  The result is higher housing
  costs and more workers commuting from Riverside and San Bernardino counties according to SANDAG Regional Housing Forecast 2006.
• The density planned for Merriam Mountains is similar to other nearby communities, including Hidden Meadows, Champagne Village, Circle R,
  and Vista Valley Country Club.

The homes proposed to be built at Merriam Mountains will
be built by home builders not affiliated with the developer.
